Just the other day, I had the opportunity to try out the Autel DS708 on three cars, a Jaguar XJ V8 supercharged, a Jaguar S Type diesel and a 2007 RangeRover. In fact, I handed the machine to the garage's chief technician and asked HIM to do the tests, without any training or instruction. In each case, he had to enter the VIN number, in contrast to the situation on most other makes, where the machine searches the number itself. He then asked it to carry out a global search and it quickly rattled through all the ECUs at a tremendous pace, indicating in red where there were any codes present.
After that, he simply clicked on each ECU and read codes, looked at graphs of live readings, examined analogue read-outs and saved or recorded for live playback, as appropriate. Even Service Light Reset was covered. I didn't get a chance to ask him if he was impressed but, when I subsequently went in to see the garage owner, he ordered right away, asking me to take his Launch X-431 in part-ex, which I was glad to do.
Frankly, I haven't come across anyone who's not impressed by this amazing device.
